After overcoming multiple life-altering anxiety attacks, Charron had to learn how to give her pain a voice while not blaming herself in the process. She had to remove toxicity, manage overwhelming financial setbacks, and muster up the strength to leave an unhealthy marriage, all while raising her children. In the midst of it all, Charron Monaye adapted a new sense of survival while opening up about losing everything…and finding peace in the process.

To find her voice, power, and strength, she released her first book of poetry, My Side of the Story, in 2010 under Purposeful Publishing, LLC. It was so raw, so transparent about her marriage and divorce that it was adapted into a stage play entitled Living Your Life and featured in the Black Theater Festival in Washington D.C. with actress D’atra Hicks. Realizing the power of her words, Charron created her literacy company, Pen Legacy, in 2015, which offers self-publishing, script and writing services, and writing/empowerment coaching.

Award-winning author, playwright, and founder of Pen Legacy, LLC., Charron Monaye has authored 10 books, (co-authored 2), published 16 books, and written/produced 3 theatrical productions. Two of her books, Love the Real You and STOP Asking for Permission & Give Notice, became Amazon bestsellers. She was a former content contributor for CNN iReport and The Philadelphia Association of Paralegals. In addition, her works can be found in eleven books and poetry anthologies across the world. In 2017, she received a Doctorate of Philosophy (Humane Letters) from CICA International University & Seminary.

To her credit, Charron has worked with or interviewed talents such as; D’atra Hicks, Robert Grant, Jaguar Wright, Tami Roman, Former First Lady Michelle Obama, Eric Monte, Syleena Johnson, Bernadette Cooper and many other notables. Just recently, she had the opportunity to hone her writing skills by studying under television producer, screenwriter, and author Shonda Rhimes and NAACP Image Award Author Victoria Christopher Murray. She is currently an editor-in-chief for

He is also starred, as the leading actor, in the stage play, “Why Can’t We Be Friends”, which focuses on Anti-Bullying. Chris used this production as his avenue to advocate for anti-bullying programs in schools and his community. To advance his platform, Award-Winning Playwright and Author Charron Monaye adapted his play into a short film entitled, “A Childhood Lost”.

His advocacy efforts caught the attention of our national leaders and he received letters from President Barack Obama, Vice President Joe Biden, Department of Education, and a Citation from Representative Cherelle Parker. In 2014, Christopher’s play won “Real Life Based Stage Play of the Year” at the DPI Playwrights Awards in Queens, NY.

Christopher studied acting under the direction of Celebrity Actor Dennis L.A. White with the pursuit of securing acting opportunities. However, his gift of singing led him to use his voice to deliver his messages through music. Since 2016, Chris has traveled and performed in talent shows and his school and church choirs, where he has performed many solos. Just recently, he secured an opportunity to perform in the Hollywood premier of the stage play, Get Out Of Your Own Way.
